| The RM-1 communicates down an isolated cable to between 1 and 4 signalling units called translators. Each translator connects via a plug-in Lightning Protection Unit (LPU) to the 2 or 3 wire course cable. Depending on the decoder type used, up to 255 decoders can be addressed from each Translator. Up to 4 decoders may be simultaneously active (with different run times) on each cable. Thus a 4 Translator system can have 16 decoders active at any one time. |
